ESC Program
Are you a European citizen between 18 and 30 years old, ready to commit for at least two months? If so, you’re eligible to apply for the European Solidarity Corps grant. Explore all the essential information below.
We’re excited to welcome anyone who wants to be part of our project and help make a difference. Check out the details below to see what’s involved—like how long you’d stay, how many hours you’d volunteer, and how to apply.
Being part of our project means joining a spiritually and ecologically minded community, participating in daily spiritual practices such as kiirtan and meditation (optional), having access to inspiring knowledge and visions of a regenerative world, living in astonishing nature, and receiving spiritual teachings and support from spiritual guides through your inner and outer journey.
You will have the chance to be part of an ambitious and meaningful project striving to make a positive impact in the local community. We value the sharing of ideas and experiences and welcome proactive individuals who want to be active members of Ananda Kalyani.
We offer various living conditions depending on the season and demand. We have community houses, dormitories, or tents available. Throughout your time here, you will enjoy healthy, locally sourced vegan sattvic food (yogic diet without onion, garlic, or mushrooms) prepared with love by our kitchen team!
We are happy to welcome dedicated and inspired service-minded volunteers who are interested in spirituality, nature, and alternative living. All volunteers provide service for 6 hours a day, for 5 days a week.
With 30 hours a week of commitment, you have the opportunity to develop a variety of soft and hard skills. In the meantime, you have the fulfilling experience of being at service to yourself, your surroundings, other beings, and the divine. Your working times and days depend on the team. We have a strong preference for volunteers who can join us for multiple months and generally require a minimum commitment of one month.

“When I heard about the project, I was amazed! I couldn’t believe such project exists, combining every aspect of my passions: community life, healthy lifestyles, cooking, yoga, mantra music & adventure & education.”

“My first experience living in a community for two months was truly transformative. From the challenge of adapting to a sustainable lifestyle in nature to meeting new people, each with their own unique story, I learned that one can glean wisdom from any situation. It’s essential to approach such experiences with an open mind, free from bias, and a thirst for learning. Undoubtedly, you will come out feeling fulfilled and enriched by both the journey and the experience.”

“I am very thankful for what this community have given me. The spiritual wealth of Ananda Marga’s teaching is immense and powerful. It invites us to let shine our inner divinity, with lots of respect, empathy and softness in the process. I could connect deeper to myself and realign my path. It is a good place for meditating and the river and surrounding nature are beautiful. The satvic food is very tasty and people try to build a community relationship with each other. You surely will find a fair amount of social life as well as being alone in your own mental and spiritual healing. Baba nam Kevalam.”

“I ended up at Ananda Kalyani because I wanted to leave the city, live in nature and I already knew the community and some people here because we follow the same spiritual tradition. The experience itself was good. Got to spend a lot of time woriking with things I enjoy doing but didn’t have the chance to do in Lisbon, such as driving (Logistics), building and repairing things (Maintenance). Worked with very knowledgeable people from who I learnt and in general felt that I have a lot of space to experiment and grow freely without anybody restricting my work. It helped me inderstand that everybody is very different and we all have to work together.”

“I wanted to be an ESC volunteer to learn more about nature, how to work in Agriculture, connect with all the progress from growing food, take care of it, cooking it, serving it, till compost and all over again. Since I was volunteering at Agriculture team and Kitchen team, it was the perfect oportunity. Where my soul could understand better about transformation and natural cycles and learning how to do it inside too. I wanted to experiment a comunity living too, and the spiritual part was very important for me, since I started to learn how to root myself. It was intense. But all of it super needed for my grow and expansion. So if you are afraid (like I was, A LOT), you must come. “
